HEIC to JPG & PNG Converter

Convert HEIC and HEIF photos to JPEG or PNG in your browser. Your photo stays on your device.

LOCAL IMAGE CONVERSION

Choose a HEIC photo

Browser-only

Files up to 50 MB are accepted; photos above 50 megapixels are rejected before pixel decoding. Accepted high-resolution photos can still use substantial memory because the browser decodes the full source before resizing the output to an 8,192-pixel longest edge.

Checking or converting the photo locally. Large images may take a little while.

Higher quality usually creates a larger file. PNG is lossless and ignores this setting.

Conversion notes

Convert HEIC photos locally

Choose a HEIC or HEIF photo, select JPEG or PNG, and download the converted copy. Decoding and conversion happen in your browser; the image file is not sent to a conversion service.

Browser support and large photos

The converter tries the browser's available image-decoding options and includes a locally served WebAssembly fallback when needed. HEVC support still depends on the browser, operating system, and photo profile, so an unusual or damaged file may not convert. Photos above 50 MB or 50 megapixels are rejected before conversion. The 8,192-pixel output cap does not lower peak memory for full-resolution decoding, so accepted high-resolution photos may still need substantial device memory.

What changes in the converted file?

The output is a new JPEG or PNG, not a copy of the original container. Embedded EXIF metadata such as camera details and location is not copied. The converter applies recognized image orientation when decoding, but color and compression can vary by browser. Keep the original if you need its metadata or exact appearance.

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The selected photo is read and converted locally in your browser. The conversion code is served by this site, but the image bytes are not uploaded.

Can I convert HEIC to PNG?

Yes. Choose PNG for a lossless output. Choose JPEG for photographs when a smaller file is more important; JPEG quality is adjustable.

Why might a photo fail to convert?

Some HEIC files use profiles or auxiliary image features not supported by the available browser decoder. Very large photos may also exceed the memory available to your browser.

Does the converted image keep EXIF data?

No. EXIF metadata is not copied to the converted file. Keep the original photo if you need camera or location metadata.

Privacy note: the selected image stays in your browser and is not uploaded to a conversion service. Decoder license and source notices.
